RSA Commemorations
The Ōtaki & District Memorial RSA & Community Club covers the area from the Waikanae River in the South to the Manakau Stream to the North of Ōtaki. The Ōtaki RSA includes the Waikanae RSA which closed a few years ago.
We support veterans and their families throughout this area.
The Ōtaki RSA provides Anzac Day commemorative events at the
Ōtaki Cenotaph for a Dawn Service, a Community Service at Waikanae, and
the Retreat at the Ōtaki Services Cemetery at sunset.
Armistice Day is remembered each year with a service at the Ōtaki Cenotaph.
The Ode of Remembrance is recited each Friday at 6 pm.
ANZAC Day Services.
A Dawn Service and an Evening Retreat are held in Ōtaki each ANZAC Day.
The club also supports a community service at Waikanae.
Members join the Manakau Community for their service.
Armistice Day
A service is held at 11am on the 11th day of November each year at the Ōtaki Cenotaph.
Ōtaki College and primary schools from the area particpate.
SS Ōtaki Memorial and Korean War Service
The RSA supports a service to commemorate the loss of the SS Ōtaki, held at the Ōtaki College, and a Korean War Memorial at the Ōtaki Primary School.
